Historic Los Rios District - San Juan Capistrano
Los Rios Historic District in San Juan Capistrano is the oldest neighborhood in California. The moment you step foot across the train tracks in San Juan Capistrano, you're transported back to another time. The entire area is filled with historic homes and businesses, and there are three original adobes that were housing for the workers who helped build the mission in the late 1700's and early 1800's. Oh, and don't miss the original iron jail cell that sits in the middle of town!
The historic architecture in Los Rios makes for a great evening stroll, and there are lots of great restaurants and shops within a short walking distance.
They also have a cool Ghost Tour with lots of haunted sites! I've been on it, and it's a lot of fun (and creepy!) walking around the neighborhood at night.
Here are a few pictures from last weekend at Los Rios.
